They will listen to gossip and look out for you though if they hear that you were going to get sucked in some drama they will stand up for you, but that is just my experience, they can be very protective and be on the look out For you. It’s just that they really are so self-involved to some level that it might take them a while to warm up to a good relationship. They must be like the super relationship sign, they truely care about people but they should be careful not to dominate anyone since the goodness for all is very much an issue.

well I’m a black girl and I can assure you, I have no problem with dating a white guy; I believe the reason more black girls don’t date white guys is because of they are afraid of how society will react to them being with somebody who is outside of their racial standards if you will. People can be so biased and judgmental sometimes that black women that do want to date a white guy or vice versa won’t because they are afraid of how people will look at them.

Me on the other hand, I am very comfortable dating a white guy…oh and btw, for all of you that commented on how black women tend to have a bad attitude, again, that is just another biased stereotype that I feel does not apply to everyone…all races and genders have attitudes, it’s just assumed black women have a worse attitude than white women. Let me be one of the first to say that I don’t have an attitude, I’m assertive; if anything I’m very pleasant and fun to be around, and that came from the mouths of my black and white friends…

As for the "3rd leg comment" all I have to say is this, if a guy knows how to use it properly, size shouldn’t matter, regardless of what they say about a black man’s penis. Why do men talk talk down to women? When you get a bunch of guys together they like to talk crap to each other. I guess with thicker skins this is their communicate style. But why do they talk smack to their women (especially around his friends) and then get pissy when we do it back to them and not stroke their ego. Women do not talk crap about their men to their friends (mostly due to pride in having a relationship) Men constantly talk down marriage, relationships, and women and never praise their women even when do good things for them. Why is this guys?

Either their joking with you, or you meet some interesting guys. Ive never really talked down to anyone unless I wanted to insult them. But I do joke around with just about everyone.

I don’t get it. Some African American women claim to hate black men; but then tend to have a problem when it comes to interracial relationships involving black men. I’d imagine that if you resent someone, you should have no disregard or interest in what they do. This applies to most unattractive black women. I have noticed that the attractive ones usually just don’t date black men as a whole; due to some social status or superiority complex they think they have to obtain, from other races. Normally, white men. I’ve also noticed dating for black women, goes by level of attraction. If you are attractive, usually you date white men. If you are unattractive, you usually date black men. So why is it, that black women have a problem with black men in interracial relationships? It can’t be that black men are their only options, because a lot of black women date white men. It also can’t be because of jealousy, considering unattractive black women, pull the most attractive black men. So I am very discombobulated. Many of my friends who are black tell me that they see white women taking the black men away from black women. My neighbor (black) told me that white women are easier to control and will take the crap that many black women will not. Another black friend who is female told me that she will not date a white person because she feels that it degrades both races. Many blacks see interracial marriage as "sleeping the master" because it goes back to the days of slavery when this did happen. It really does not matter the color of some person’s skin, it is if the two in the relationship truly love each other.

It absolutley breaks my heart to see guys signing on and shacking up with these women at such frequency. Its like seeing somone burn their hand on a flame, then a second later stick their hand right back on. Women hinder a man financially, ruin relationships with his friends, hurt his personal ambitions- I didnt even mention how it unnerves a man personally. I see this guys out with their girlfriends, and the analogy comes to mind of going to the beach, you know enjoying yourself having a great time for a few hours. Correctly articulated sir, it only matters when women are exploited sexually by men. Why is it you never hear anyone complaining about a lesbian using another women for sex, money, or career advancement? How many complaints, lawsuits, or criminal indictments occur when women are involved in sex with a minor female? Rarely, even thought it happens often enough.

No, women are not exploited more by other women, but we will never know the actual depth of it. Society either finds a convenient excise for it, usually some man, or it is brushed under the rug.

I met a guy through a friend of mine. He is a friend of her boyfriends and I stopped at his house with her for a few minutes about two months ago. He called her and asked about me right after that and him and I ended up going on a casual date: He took me to a bbq and then we went to his friends house and watched the UFC fight with a bunch of his guy friends and after wards we went to the bar drinking. While we were at the bar a noticed he left me to go talk to a few other girls. Not a big deal – they were not better looking than me, so i was like ‘whatever’ – but it was our first date, and I thought it was kind of rude, but it’s not like I had serious feelings for him at that moment, I just did observe it, and it was noted. Nothing happened between us that night, we did a lot of kissing but that’s it.

I kinda travel a lot for work so I cant all the time at this moment, but a few (about 3) weeks goes by and were still talking through text messages everyday, a few phone calls and whatever. He wanted a picture of me, I sent him one and he sends one back. Then he sends me a picture of his penis. Ok well im not really into that sort of thing, especially being that I don’t know him that well etc. It didn’t exactly bother me, but I wasn’t really impressed. I also assume that if someone does that kinda thing they are promiscuous. Thats just what I think, but my friends say I am a prude so maybe I am.

I know he is very sexually attracted to me, he has made that clear and I like it, but I don’t want someone that only likes me for that.

I get home from out of town and the same day I hung out with him all day. Nothing happened. We kissed a lot but that’s it.

Few more weeks go by and we hooked up again, and again I went out with him and his friends. Again he is talking to girls. Annoying, but not jealous I guess I just feel its disrespectful. Again, the wondering eye and the gull he had to do that right in front of me on our second date is noted.

Ok whatever. Him and I have talked about relationships. I am 26 and I have only dated four men. I have just always been the type of person to be in long monogamous relationships, and that is what I have had – four long monogamous relationships. I don’t like to sleep around, I like being with one person. I have had breaks in between my four long term relationships, but no sex etc in between. I also have to get to know a man for a while before I even call him my boyfriend.

He on the other hand has told me that he has only really had about 2 or 3 serious relationships, and dated a bunch of women in between a slept with a lot. He also admitted to cheating on the 2 or 3 girls he actually was dating seriously. He also told me that he slept with this girl that he has a strictly sexual relationship with, during the three weeks I was out of town working. We were not dating so its not like he cheated, but we are in the courting stage of our relationship still and it kinda worries me.

He says he was being honest with me and that is why i should trust him enough to date him. I do want to date him, we have a lot of chemistry, but I feel like if I do date him and he does end up treating me like his exes and being really promiscuous while dating me that it will be my fault for even dating him in the first place.

What do you all think? And if you do think I should just move on .. how can I tell him how i feel without sounding rude?

You want a monogamous relationship…. which means trustworthiness, respect, loyalty.

I am sorry to say…I think this man is not the one for you….I think there is pain at the end of this road. And I am leaving out the penis photograph and the going and chatting with (or chatting up) other girls when you are with him.

Sorry, but this does not sound a good avenue to go down.

You haven;t met a great deal, so it is probably easy to tell him it is a no-go situation. could you blame work commitments if you would like a less confrontational way out.

Well, in general, they weren’t advanced as scientifically as we are today [cave-women, please excuse the sexism here], but they had enough knowledge of science and religion to keep them together [for the most part] and survive. However, we can safely _assume_ that for the limited exposure to modern science that they had, they were able to agree and identify the differences between men and women, and how these differences tied into the kind of professions that men and women chose. These definitely had a large impact on their relationships, too.
